Being runner up at the AFC Championships last May, but loosing the first game from Spain 8-0, I honoustly thought: “Well, too far to make a bid at the World Championships….” No conviction, a lack of confidence and non concentrated in the defense.
After a good talk and again training on Spains game tactics, the second game in Korat should be better. The team was alterated on various positions and this worked out very well. After a hang back at the start they threw down their fear.
Despite the 6-4 deserved win for Spain, Thailand scored for the very first time goals against this team.
Conclusion: continue the right road and learn of these games how we must play the 1st of November against Costa Rica: without fear but with Thai proud and bluff.
