The SEA Games is where the two weeks is all about. I think every resident of the city of Nay Phiy Taw is linked to the games. Those who are not working at the games are queing to get a ticket for the opening ceremony.
It’s actually a chore to get through the security, even for the athletes. Our bus is led to a special entrance and checked on explosives etcetera. Then, before entering the hall, we are checked once again before we can go to the dressing room. Unfortunately it has become necessery nowadays.
In the meanwhile we played our first game on the 9th against Laos. It was an easy win, 12-3. Our next game is of a different caliber when we play against Vietnam on December 15th. But also now I have confidence in my players because I notice that a gold medal means a lot to them; they give themselves 200%.
I will let you know in my next blog how it ended
