How on earth is it possible that federations have Futsal in their package and treat it like that? They recruited me because of my 30 year experience in Futsal and to bring the Futsal in Indonesia to a higher level. But then you step on the sacred cow and you can’t get further.
Developing Futsal means: 1. A good competition (not existing in Indonesia) 2. Coaching courses (Managment decides who can attend > “jobs for the boys” 3. Grass Roots projects (they don’t have a clue….) 4. Friendly international games against strong opponents to learn (I didn’t have any this year…) et cetera et cetera.
Now they’ve decided that a foreign coach only can coach a team when he has Level 3 licence…..Last year I conducted the first Elite Course in Iran for AFC but in Indonesia they only had one level 2 course so they could learn a lot from foreign coaches with level 2.
After an evaluation it was deciced not to continue the cooperation. This is the best decision because for a professional it’s impossible to work like this.
I especially would like to thank my assistant Yori van der Torren for his support and hard work and I wish him lots of success!
